Marilyn Zack

 

Marilyn Zack joined the Grand Rapids Community Foundation in 2001. In her role as Vice President of Development, Marilyn is responsible for the leadership, management, and strategic direction setting for the development efforts of Michigan’s oldest community Foundation. Marilyn serves as the primary contact for donors and professional advisors, providing support information and expertise related to charitable planned giving options.

Marilyn’s non-profit leadership experience spans nearly two decades. Before joining the Community Foundation, she spent five years with the American Cancer Society, first as executive director of the Kent County Unit and later as officer of gift planning for the State of Michigan. During her time with the Cancer Society, Marilyn served as a member of that organization’s National Planned Giving Marketing Team. Prior to the Cancer Society, Marilyn served as Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Clinical Oncology Program, a National Cancer Institute funded program.

Active in the community, Marilyn is a Past President of the Western Michigan Planned Giving Group She served as assistant treasurer of the Camp Blodgett Babies Welfare Guild. She has also served as a board member of the Humane Society of Kent County, the Hugh Michael Beahan Foundation and as a volunteer for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program through D.A. Blodgett for Children. She is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids, the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, the East Congregational Church Endowment Committee and most recently the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation.

Marilyn received her B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and is currently working on her Master of Management degree at Aquinas College.
