Grand Rapids Community Foundation

For good. For ever.

Why Give?

Your gift to the Grand Rapids Community Foundation is a gift that helps right now, in the present; but also has the unique ability to provide for future needs.

This is because your gift becomes part of the Community Foundation’s permanent endowment. An endowment is like a savings account or a retirement savings plan. When you give to an endowment, the funds are invested with growth as a goal. From the income, the Foundation makes grants and the principle of your original gift remains intact forever.

The Community Foundation makes grants to Kent County nonprofit organizations for specific projects, capital campaigns and innovative programs. It supports a wide variety of both secular and faith-based organizations. The Community Foundation focuses grantmaking on these six priority areas:

All donations are tax deductible and gifts of any size are welcome. Gifts of $200 for a single person and $400 for a married couple qualify for the Michigan State Income Tax Credit.
