The GrantOff is a new Community Foundation experiment. 

Its purpose is to help you get to know us a bit more while supporting great local nonprofits we all care about. 

While the Community Foundation's work is complex and involves many different partners, at its very essence our work can be described through gifts, growth and grants.  Generous donors make charitable gifts to the Community Foundation.  The gifts are pooled together and invested for growth.  From the growth, grants are awarded to nonprofits in Kent County. 

This GrantOff is being made possible by the John R. Bertsch Fund, a Donor Advised Fund at Grand Rapids Community Foundation.  John is a major fan of these two nonprofits and so he selected them to be part of the GrantOff.  Your vote will help decide which one receives a $1,000 grant from John's Fund.

Here are the rules:

1. This is an experiment and it’s meant to be fun, so please cut us some slack if something goes awry.
2. Register or sign into your Facebook account to vote.  This will not allow us to access your personal information; we're not interested in that.  Registering/signing in is just meant to limit one vote per day, per person.  The How to Vote tab will tell you how you can multiply your vote.
3. If you submit a video, please keep it clean.  This is a family-friendly contest after all.  Videos and messages that are offensive, mean-spirited or downright inappropriate will be deleted. 
4. The GrantOff will close at 5 pm EST on April 26, 2012. You must vote by then for it to count.
5. All decisions by Grand Rapids Community Foundation are final. This is our website and we make the rules.
