Excellence in Education Minigrant Program

Minigrants are a collaborative effort supported by funding from the Grand Rapids Community Foundation with endorsement of and in partnership with the Grand Rapids Public, Grand Rapids Diocesan Catholic and Grand Rapids Christian School Association. Since 1987 over $1 million has been awarded through the Excellence in Education Program.

Teacher Minigrant and Student Innovative Minigrant applications were due October 15.

Teacher Minigrants

Minigrants are available each year for new projects or programs, program enhancement within the curriculum framework, expansion on an already existing unit, student awards, special events, professional development opportunities, experts-in-residence, and parent involvement programs. Student Innovative Minigrants

Student Innovative Minigrants are designed to introduce the concept of a community foundation and its work by supplying educational and funding opportunities for innovative ideas generated by students in the 6th to 12th grade.
