Who is included in this directory?

Any nonprofit organization in Kent County, including churches, schools, 501(c)3s (charitable organizations), and 501(c)4s (private service clubs).

Can I make a tax-deductible contribution to any organization on this site?

No. Not all nonprofit organizations have the 501(c)3 status necessary to qualify for federal tax deductions.

How can I tell if the nonprofit has current 501(c)3 status?

You can call them, or if you’re interested in making a gift through Grand Rapids Community Foundation, call Molly Parker or Marilyn Zack at (616) 454-1751.

What’s the best way to find the organization I’m looking for?

Use the advanced search option, and provide as much information as you have.

I found the organization, but where is the link to their website?

If the organization has provided their website information to the directory, the link is shown in their listing. If there is no link, we have not received web site information.

I tried to send an email to the organization, but it was undeliverable. What am I doing wrong?

We include the most current information available in the directory, but we have no control over the status of each organization’s system.

I can’t find the organization I’m looking for. Is there another way to search for it?

Try all possible versions of the organization’s name in Advanced Search. For example, if “GROW” doesn’t work, try “Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women.”

My nonprofit listing has outdated information. How can I correct it?

Go to the directory’s home page, and under the heading “Nonprofits: Update Your Information,” click on “add/update a listing” or “delete a listing.”My Kent County nonprofit is not included in the directory. What are the criteria for receiving a mailing label file from this site?

The list of nonprofit directory data is available for individuals and organizations intending to use the data for research and/or additional purposes that will benefit other nonprofits. If you feel your need meets these criteria please go to the feedback page and make a request. If the request is granted, a mailing label file of the entire directory (no sorting options are available) will be sent by email. The file is a zipped mail merge file that can be used with Avery label templates included in Microsoft Word. Each request is approved on a case by case basis.
