Communities of Color Initiative to Host Estate Planning Seminar

published April 10th, 2007

An estate plan is a legal document that identifies what should happen to the things you own after you are gone. Your estate may include your home, car, jewelry, art, stocks or retirement savings—all of your treasures. To assist you in creating an estate plan, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Communities of Color Initiative is hosting an estate planning seminar on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 5-7 p.m. at Alger Middle School.

Attendees will learn the basics of estate planning from Shirley Kaigler an attorney with Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer and Weiss, P.C. Participants will gain a better understanding of the importance of estate planning and become familiar with the steps in creating one.
