Youth Advisory Committee Grants

The Southeast Ottawa Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee is responsible for developing grant recommendations for the distribution of The Foundation’s Youth Fund.
Grant funds are derived from the interest off a matching grant supplied by the Kellogg Foundation. Money for future grants will be generated by the interest earned on the Community Foundation Endowment fund.
Students meet monthly throughout the school year. They identify issues of concern to area youth by surveying their peers. Then they prepare a Request for Proposals which will address the identified issue areas. Finally, students review the grant proposals received and make funding recommendations to the Southeast Ottawa Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Income from the Youth Fund is distributed on an annual basis to programs that address specific needs identified by the Youth Committee.
