SVI has been a program of Grand Rapids Community Foundation since 2002, and in this time it has been very successful. In total, nearly $2 million was raised through the SVI program. This includes gifts for SVI and for other funds and campaigns of the Community Foundation.
SVI grants totaling $750,000 have been invested in quality nonprofit programs. These grants have helped to launch and bolster 27 innovative solutions to community challenges.
After eight years and careful analysis that only comes through the lens of lean times, our staff and volunteers have determined that SVI is not the most cost effective way for our donors and the Community Foundaiton to make the greatest, most strategic difference in our community. So, it is time to evolve!
