What DeShawn Does:
As a strategic communications assistant, DeShawn supports the Strategic Communications Department by providing administrative support, providing editorial assistance, organizing and archiving materials, and being a thought partner and brand ambassador. She also is a member of the Software Transition Committee at the Community Foundation.
What DeShawn did before:
She has worked at various nonprofits doing engagement and project management work, including her most recent role at ICCF Community Homes as a community connector. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Western Michigan University and her master's degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit leadership and management from Grand Valley State University.
When DeShawn isn’t working:
She enjoys fitness activities, traveling with her husband, cooking, and reading. Deshawn is dedicated to the community and is the Leadership and Recognition Co-Chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Grand Rapids.
