What Cris does:

Cris leads the Community Foundation's equitable education strategy, partnering to advance grantmaking and advocacy work. She also directs the Challenge Scholars Program, a place-based, cross-sector initiative to ensure first-generation, low income students obtain a degree or credential.

What she did before:

Previously, Cris served as Executive Director of the Garfield Park Neighborhood Association. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science/Secondary Education and a Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation from Michigan State University.

When Cris is not working:

Cris serves on the 4th to 12th Grade Working Group for KConnect, Kent County’s collective impact effort. She enjoys checking out local restaurants and breweries, being outdoors (preferably near water), and spending time with family.
