What Jenine does:

As director of philanthropic services, Jenine provides leadership and guidance to philanthropic services and is a key relationship manager for the Community Foundation’s donor advisors and fund partners. In partnership with other staff, Jenine also directs the activities of the Somos Comunidad, Black Legacy, Our LGBTQ and Youth funds. Through these engagement efforts, Jenine activates our North Star, creating connections and providing resources to support local philanthropists, nonprofit organizations and other partners.

What she did before:

Jenine joined the Community Foundation as a development officer in 2016, and also previously served as development director. Earlier in her career, she worked with Family Futures as chief advancement officer, in Grand Rapids Public Schools as a youth advocate, and in grassroots fundraising. Jenine received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Humboldt State University as well as a Master of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. She holds the CAP®(Chartered Advisor In Philanthropy) designation from the American College of Financial Services which she earned in 2021.

When Jenine is not working:

She enjoys spending time with her family, planning meals from Cooking Light, watching movies on Netflix, or seeing live music. Jenine co-chairs the Event Planning committee and West Michigan Regional Council for Inforum and served as chair for the Create Great Leaders Council at the Grand Rapids Chamber.
