What Kas does:
As program officer, Kas advances the Community Foundation’s community engagement and resource activities. As part of a collaborative team, Kas will work to identify opportunities for the Community Foundation to support efforts that align with our North Star. This includes the grant activities of specialty funds, including the Nonprofit Technical Assistant Fund, geographic affiliates, community partnership funds and the Fund for Community Good.
What they did before:
Kas Valtierra has a background in education, program management and community engagement with a focus on creativity, inclusion and equity. She has worked at Kent School Services Network, Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities and other community-based organizations where she coordinated resources, built partnerships and led programming. Her work also includes managing green infrastructure projects, analyzing data for nonprofit initiatives and advocating for social justice.
When she isn’t working:
Outside of work, Kas is engaged in local art, music and community-based events. They also enjoy spending time hiking, kayaking and taking time to recharge.
