What Kate does:

Kate is responsible for the leadership, management and strategic direction of the Community Foundation's grantmaking and scholarship activities. Kate serves as part of the senior leadership team and assists with the development and execution of the Community Foundation’s long term strategic goals aimed at advancing equity in all forms.

What she did before:

Previously, Kate worked as a graduate assistant at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University conducting community research regarding poverty and philanthropic trends. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Nonprofit Leadership, both from GVSU.

When Kate’s not working:

She tries different parks in the area with her elementary-aged daughter on the quest for the best slide in West Michigan. She also enjoys watching Tigers baseball or Michigan football game with her sons and husband and enjoys the local food scene.
