What Khara does: 

Khara serves as finance director, leading the daily management of accounting and investment activities, budgets, financial reporting and compliance. She works closely with senior leadership and across departments to ensure fiscal accountability and long-term community impact.

What she did before: 

Khara is an entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience supporting organizations through fractional CFO and accounting roles, both externally and internally. She co-founded South East Market, a community-rooted grocery store working to disrupt systemic inequities in food access in the 49507, with an emphasis on sourcing from Black, Indigenous, POC and women-led farms and businesses.

When Khara isn’t working:

You can find Khara with her three sons cozy at home watching films or on the sidelines at the soccer field. She'll be chasing sunshine, maximizing beach days with a good book, hiking with her bernedoodle, connecting with friends, gardening and growing food in her backyard, or cooking up her obaasan’s Japanese recipes.
