What Angela Does:

As a Scholarship Coordinator, Angela will be supporting the education area within the Program Department. She will support the scholarship process and workflow of both Challenge Scholars and General Scholarships. While closely supporting and partnering with potential scholarship applicants, recipients, committee members, and external partners. She is looking forward to centering her work around student voices to lead equity-based action based on lived experiences of community members.

What Angela did before:

Angela spent 4.5+ years at Affinity Mentoring- a school-based mentoring program that facilitated equitable growth in academics, social-emotional skills, and self-esteem through mutually beneficial mentoring relationships. She started as a Program Assistant and then became the Godfrey Lee Middle School Site Coordinator in 2021. She also co-led and co-founded the Middle School Mentoring Steering Committee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee at Affinity.

When Angela isn’t working:

She enjoys spending time with family and friends while sharing a good meal, playing soccer in the Grand Rapids Champs League with the FC Southside team, and finding the coolest things when thrifting and exploring the flea market.
