What Janean does:

Janean has a leadership role in our proactive grantmaking and our Fund for Community Good activities.  She also plays a key role in initiating new prototypes for our resource allocation activities in alignment with the North Star.   

What she did before:

Janean spent nine years at Grand Valley State University as a program coordinator and career advisor. Janean is a founder and advisory board member of BL²END (Business Leaders Linked Encouraging New Directions). She was also named one of Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty, Class of 2015. Janean received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration and a Master of Education degree in Adult and Higher Education from Grand Valley State University.

When Janean’s not working:

Janean spends time volunteering with her church, One Church Empowerment Center and her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She also enjoys building relationships with family and friends, traveling, and shopping.
