What Marilyn does:
Marilyn is responsible for the leadership, management and strategic direction of the Development team. She serves as the primary contact for donors and professional advisors, using her 19 years of experience at the Community Foundation to provide support and information on charitable, planned giving options. Marilyn holds the CAP (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy) designation from the American College of Financial Services, which she earned in 2015.
What she did before:
Marilyn’s non-profit leadership experience spans more than two decades. She spent five years with the American Cancer Society first as executive director of the Kent County Unit and later as officer of gift planning for the State of Michigan. Prior to the Cancer Society she was executive director of the Grand Rapids Clinical Oncology Program. Marilyn is incredibly active in the community, serving on numerous boards throughout her career. She currently is a board member of the University Club of Grand Rapids. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA degree.
When Marilyn’s not working:
She’s focusing on family and friends, in particular her husband Garry, daughter Macie and 4 legged companions Babette and Lucy.
