Community Foundation Wins Three PRSA PRoof Awards

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation took home two gold PRoof awards and one silver PRoof award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), West Michigan Chapter.

The Community Foundation’s Creating Community for a Lifetime campaign received a gold PRoof award in the public service campaign category. The campaign was created to build awareness of the Community Foundation’s Creating Community for a Lifetime initiative which aims to ensure that older adults in our community have opportunities to be engaged in meaningful ways. Craig Clark of Clark Communications played an integral role in the creation and implementation of the communication plan which generated a great deal of media coverage throughout 2006.

A second gold Proof award went to President’s Point of View, a blog written by Community Foundation President Diana Sieger, in the electronic media category. The blog provides an outlet for Diana’s writing, discussions with others and sharing of ideas about the community and philanthropy. Since its inception, Diana has made nearly 40 posts and traffic on the site hit a high point with 700 visitors in December 2006.
