Community Foundation Welcomes Controller

Grand Rapids Community Foundation is pleased to welcome Kevin Harmelink as controller. In this new role Kevin is responsible for the Community Foundation’s accounting activities and oversees facilities management and human resources.

“I am really looking forward to contributing to the Community Foundation and to our community. I am excited to bring my experience and ideas to the organization and work with the dedicated staff, board members and donors,” Kevin said.

Kevin came here after seven years at Lake Michigan Credit Union, most recently as its credit union service organization controller and leasing manager. Before that he worked as a financial accountant at Hastings Mutual Insurance Company and fleet coordinator at K & M Northfield Dodge. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting major from Western Michigan University.

Kevin volunteers with United Way’s Schools of Hope reading program. He and his wife, Laura, have one child, Chase. The family enjoys traveling and watching and participating in sports.
