Summer Camp Expo This Week!

This week, families can learn about the many options children have for fending off summer boredom by attending the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s first Summer Camp Expo. Summer camps and enrichment programs from throughout West Michigan will be at the Expo slated for Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event is being held at the newly renovated Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, located at 235 Straight NW.

This free event will connect parents and future campers to local summer camps and provide them information about scholarship and transportation opportunities. Families who attend will be treated to a pizza dinner as they mingle with former campers and camp experts. There will be 35 overnight camps, day camps, and summer enrichment programs from throughout West Michigan in attendance, and Spanish translators will also be on hand.

Children will also have the opportunity to participate in a few of the fun activities they can expect at camp and receive gifts and prizes! Join in the fun this Thursday!
