As part of the move into its new building, the Community Foundation implemented several new and innovative human resource strategies. Here are a few that the organization is particularly proud of:

  • During the design of the building renovation, the Foundation’s president and senior leaders sought input from staff to ensure the new workspaces would be comfortable and efficient. Staff members were involved in researching ideas for the spaces they would use the most. Many of the suggested ideas were implemented.
  • The new building includes a quiet room for employees to take a break or make private calls. As a family friendly employer, this space is also available for children who need to come to work with mom or dad for an appointment or due to a school closing.
  • To get staff involved with its commitment to the environment, the Community Foundation created and implemented a TransPoints Program, which rewards staff who chose to commute or walk to and from work and meetings. Staff members are also encouraged to recycle and opt for green products at work and at home.

Grand Rapids Community Foundation is proud of its employees and honors their input and hard work in making the Foundation a great place to work.
