About the Foundation
Established in 1996 as a geographic component fund, the Sparta Community Foundation has received matching dollars from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for their youth advisory committee. They made their first grants in early 2000 from their endowment fund.
Grants
The Sparta Community Foundation solicits grant requests in a number of ways.
First, the Community Foundation itself annually requests proposals from nonprofit organizations whose efforts and impact is focused primarily in the Sparta area. Those nonprofits whose efforts also include a focus on youth-related issues may want to direct their request to the Foundation's youth advisory committee.
