Local youth in Grand Rapids recently came together to learn an instrument, form a band, write a song and perform it onstage and in a professional recording studio through Girls Rock! Grand Rapids. The camp builds skills in collaboration, communication and confidence while pushing against harmful cultural norms that tell girls and queer youth that they are not enough. It was made possible in part by Bob, who included Grand Rapids Community Foundation in his legacy by establishing the Robert D. Mieras Fund for Dance and Music. Since his death in 2010, the fund has supported arts in West Michigan, including a grant to Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities to support Girls Rock! Grand Rapids.

Bob’s passion for art and music led him to establish a fund that ensures his values live on. Making a will is an act of love that provides clarity and peace of mind for loved ones.
How do I start?
You can make a will anytime. Start by talking with your family about your values and wishes, then consult an attorney or financial adviser.
